Mrs. Clara Lee Smith was born April 3, 1939, to the late Willie Brown, Jr. and Mattie Lee Brown. She departed this life on November 14, 2025. Mrs. Clara confessed Christ at an early age and joined Zion Rest A.M.E. Church where she served as an active member for many years.
Mrs. Clara married the love of her life, George E. Smith. To this union they were blessed with two children: Catherine Smith Ball and Willie George Smith.
Mrs. Clara was proceeded in death by her husband, George E. Smith; daughter, Catherine Smith Ball; mother and father-in-law, John and Georgie Lee Smith, Sr.; grandson, Roy C. Mickles; four sisters, Mrs. Dafnie Mae (Robert) Reids, Mrs. Minnie Mae (Joseph) DeSilva, Mrs. Elizabeth (Richard) Herbert, and Mrs. Lee Alice (Ralph, Jr.) Coleman; and two brothers, Mr. James W. (Dorothy) Brown and Mr. McArthur (Patricia) Brown.
Mrs. Clara leaves to cherish her memories her devoted son Willie George Smith of Greenville, AL; five grandchildren, KeeShunda Mickles of Greenville, AL, Marcus (Leslie) Mickles of Pensacola, FL, George DeWayne Simpson of Banbera, TX, Patrick Latrell Smith of Richmond, VA, and William Anthony Smith of Petersburgh, VA; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Willie Rene (Clyde) Herbert of Orlando, FL, Mrs. Odessa (Leroy) Martin of Greenville, AL; one brother, Mr. Willie C. Brown, III; nine sisters-in-law; a special niece, Mrs. Delbra Williams of Brewton, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
