Edward Payne, Jr.

Mr. Edward Payne, Jr. was born October 7, 1975, in Greenville, Alabama to the late Edward Payne, Sr. and Alobiller “Bea” Scarver Payne. He departed this life on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Regional Medical Center, Greenville, Alabama.

Edward gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a member of the Trustee Board.

Edward graduated from Greenville High School in 1995. While attending high school, he was a proud member of the Greenville Tiger’s Football Team, helping them to become the 1994 5A State Champs.

Edward enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, riding around, being out on the farm and good ole’ Alabama football. He never met a stranger and had a zest for life. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Payne, Sr., his sisters: Dorothy P. Curry and Maxine Thompson; and his brothers: Eddie L. Scarver and Willie J. Scarver. 

Edward leaves to cherish his precious memories with his son: Edward “Trai” Payne III; his mother: Alobiller “Bea” S. Payne; siblings: Wilbert (Brenda) Scarver of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Joe L. Scarver,  Jessie Scarver, and Annie Sellers of Greenville, AL; Frank (Mary) Crenshaw of Georgiana, AL; Joseph Payne of Enterprise, AL and Deanna Baker of London, England; devoted sister: Dorothy Sellers of Greenville, AL; devoted cousins: Rex Smith, Sr., Rex Smith, Jr., and Tim Knight all of Greenville, AL.
