Freddie Ray Stewart

Freddie Ray Stewart was born on July 12, 1959, in Pine Apple, Alabama. He peacefully transitioned from this life on June 13, 2026, at his residence in Greenville, Alabama.

Freddie grew up in Pine Apple and graduated from William J. Jones High School in 1981. Following graduation, he relocated to Greenville, Alabama where he was employed at Sylvest Poultry Farm in Forest Home, Alabama until retirement.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Lee Stewart; his father, Hubert Walton; his brother, Lloyd Stewart; and a special aunt, Willie Mae Starks, who was like a second mother to him. 

Freddie or "Ready Freddie" as he often called himself, never met a stranger. He had a gift for making friends wherever he went and enjoyed laughing, joking, and engaging in friendly trash talk with anyone willing to listen. His warm personality, easygoing spirit and sense of humor made him beloved by all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sisters: Shirley Prevo of Mobile, Alabama, and Barbetta Walton of Atlanta, Georgia; three daughters: Tynesha McNeil, Rebecca Powell, and Rondylin Powell; two nieces: Bianca Walton and LaTesha Lymon who was also his devoted caregiver; two nephews: Shawndell Walton and Marquise Lymon; one aunt: Minnie Stewart of Pike Road, Alabama; a devoted cousin and caregiver, Mary Benjamin of Pine Apple, Alabama; friend Willie Morgan; a special friend: Janie Mae Powell of Greenville, Alabama and a host of other relatives and friend.

Freddie's legacy of laughter, kindness, and friendship will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him and were blessed to know him.
