Mr. Jeremiah “Jerry” Burnett was born February 28, 1954, to the late Joe Burnett and the late Rosemary Burnett Johnson.
On Saturday, February 14, 2026, God looked around his garden and saw an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw Jerry’s tired face. He wrapped his arms around him and told him to rest. He only calls home the best. He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb. So, He saw Jerry’s weary eyelids and whispered into his ears “well done my good and faithful servant, please be thine.”
Jerry worked several jobs over the years with Simmons Auto being the last.
Jerry was proceeded in death by his parents; one daughter, Vanessa Gail Jones and sister, Sharon Owens.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Jerald Burnett, Dexter (Amanda) Burnett, Tonja Burnett, Jamal Burnett, Jeremiah Burnett, Courtney Burnett, Jerry Burnett, Chris Crenshaw, and Jeriuanna Burnett; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings: Elizabeth Bedgood, Edna Earl Burnett, Brenda Lee, McCarthy Tyson, Shandra Burnett, Jackie McKinley, Darryl Clay Marsh and David Johnson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and best friends: Willie, Jap, Doc, Vig and George.
“May the angels wrap you in their wings and guide you gently home, where love and light forever shine.”
