Robert E. Chambers Sr. was born on August 18, 1953, to his loving parents: his father, the Late John T. Chambers Sr., and his mother, Olean G. Chambers.
He became member of Union Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.
Robert passed away on June 25, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father, John T. Chambers Sr.; one brother, John T. Chambers Jr.; three grandchildren: John Bullock, Marcus Bullock and Jada Chambers; and one son-in-law, Vernon Harris Sr.
He leaves to mourn his passing: wife, Dimple Mae Chambers; eleven children: Rita Bullock John Young), Willie Alvin) McCall, Brenda Harris, Dona Tarrence) Fore, Robert Trista) Chambers Jr., Latasha John) James, Robert Savannah) Chambers III, Loucinda Andre) Porter, Charlie Keyonna) Chambers, Sydney Bowen and Anthony Bowen; twenty-six grandchildren: Latoya Bullock, Kimberly Bullock, Victoria Smith, La’Shanta Bullock, Ladeirdra Bullock Tony Hardy), Vernon Chevon) Harris Jr., Tomas Demetra) Crenshaw, QuDiamond Parrish) Patton, Keonna Walter) Peoples, Shantia Rivers, Amya Chambers, Caitlyn Scott, Ty’Tianna Chambers, I’Yonna Chambers, Jayden Chambers, ZyDarian Smith, MaKysia Sellers, Micah Herbert, Xy’Riaunna Chambers, Acario Porter, Jamari Chambers, Ja’Kayden James, N’Yonna Chambers, Marcellus Chambers, Amina Porter, Kalea Chambers; forty great-grandchildren; five sisters: Annette Peavy, Barbara Chambers, Rebecca Chambers, Lilla Edd) Gamble and Debra Gunn; three brothers: Travis Chambers, Frederick Janice) Chambers and Gray Chambers; three sisters-in-law: Louella Bullock, Janice Bullock, and Mary Christine Cheatham Johnny Powell); several great-great grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins who loved him dearly.
Robert had great love for football. His favorite team was Alabama Crimson Tide. Robert and his friends would gather at the service station for hours laughing, talking and sharing stories. He loved working on and fixing cars. He was the family mechanic. He also had special friend, Mr. Vonzell Golson. They worked together for many years.
